I chose the size based on the Amazon recommendation for this sandal (it recommended slightly smaller than I normally wear), and they fit great! I was however slightly disappointed in the comfort of this sandal. I think my expectations were too high. I was expecting more cushion in the sole because of the high comfort ratings everyone gave this sandal. They don't have nearly the cushion of my tennis shoes (which have gel in the sole). I shouldn't have hoped for them to be that comfortable, they weren't intended to be as cushioned as a gel sole. Otherwise, they are WAY more comfortable than other sandals I've owned - the straps are all very comfortable, the shoe fits snug with no spots that rub, the sole is flexible and is a nice walking surface, and I would highly recommend these.
