Product Description

Rockport has always been one step ahead of the times, believing the perfect shoe has not yet been invented. This positive dissatisfaction compels them to constantly improve upon their footwear. Founded in 1971, they were the first company to use advanced athletic technologies in casual shoes to achieve lightweight comfort, and the first company to engineer walking comfort in dress and casual shoes.

Smart looking shoes - they're exactly as they appear in the photos (which I'm finding isn't always the case on Amazon - especially with leather). After reading several other reviews I ordered them 1/2 size smaller than my usual, and I ordered the wide (I don't always require a wide, but find lately many leather shoes fit too narrow). They fit like a charm. No break-in period. They're sturdy and comfortable and from the very first time I slipped them on, felt as much like slippers as they do like shoes. Which brings me to my only complaint: it feels like you're wearing slippers around the city if you walk much with them. Which for some people may be desirable? But I prefer a shoe to feel like shoe if I'm going to wear it for any length of time.Full disclosure: I live in Manhattan and tend to punish my shoes with miles of daily use. I generally wear lace-up shoes and this was my first pair of loafers. So those of you who regularly wear loafers may want to take this one 'complaint' with a grain of salt:These are very comfortable, and the (built-in) inserts are padded and plush, but they offer very little support for your heels... which, I gather, is typical of loafers. I don't have much experience with loafers so I expected a bit more ankle support (hardly the shoe's fault). They're great for indoor use, if not exactly ideal for long miles on NYC sidewalks. Indoors, it really does feel like you're wearing a pair of slippers. They go well with jeans, but are *just* a bit too fancy to pull off wearing with a t-shirt. At least for me. These are perfect for an office-casual look.
