I have been looking at GPU's for a while and finally decided on the Nvidia 1060 series due to its performance vs price ration. The 1050 is a great card but the performance difference is huge while the price difference was moderate. The 1070 is an excellent card but it would end up costing more than my entire computer. Most of the Nvdia 1060 GPUs are roughly the same regardless of the maker. The main difference is the fans/cooling, the appearance, and the ports. This gigabyte offers dual fans that supposedly offer more cooling due to the fan design. I am not sure if its true but the temps have been fairly consistent and the fan is very quiet. Keep in mind that with minimal to moderate use the fans do not come on at all (unlike GPUs of the past) once you reach a certain degree of use the fans will ramp up as needed. Also worth noting is that this generation of Nvida cards have "auto overclocking" which means they can adjust their frequency depending on how you are using it. This has worked out very well so far with the card humming with light apps at less than 400mhz and then going to full clock with heavy games. The temperatures are reasonable (about 66 degrees at full load) and the performance has been spotless with my Core i5 setup. The only real downside to this is that it comes with no accessories. Back in the day I recall GPUs coming with connectors adapters to allow you to use different types of monitors. This GPU has 1 HDMI, 1 DVI, and 3 display Ports. I would have much rather had more HDMI or DVI output or this could have come with adapters to allow you to switch but unfortunately I had to purchase the adapters myself. As long as you are ok with the ports then you won't be disappointed with the card.
